Human Resource Generalist

Leonard Workforce Solutions is recruiting a Human Resource Generalist for my client, an educational institution in Lackawanna County.
This is a full-time, ON-SITE position. Work schedule is M-F, 8am - 3:30pm.
Starting compensation is up to $60,000/yr. + amazing benefits, including Medical/Rx, Dental, and Vision all starting on the 1st day of employment for employee and legal dependents, and no premium share, so no payroll deductions toward insurance benefits.

Job Summary
This position shall be responsible for supporting employee/labor relations, performance management, employment activities, onboarding, organizational policy and procedure administration, benefits administration etc.
Essential Duties/Functions
1. Assist in the administration of compensation and benefit plans, including Open Enrollment.
2. Prepare required bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by various stakeholders.
3. Perform new employee onboarding procedures including entering data into the Personnel system.
4. Provide support to employees in requesting leaves, changes to benefits, and other various employment verification requests.
5. Prepare all unemployment compensation forms as required.
6. Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper format.
7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations including Collective Bargaining Agreements.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
9. Prepare and track absence balances in the personnel software and substitute calling system.
10. Prepare annual compensation letters.
11. Coordinate interviews with prospective employees and assist with job fairs.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associates degree (Bachelors degree preferred).
3-5 years of experience in Human Resources required; experience in an educational organization or unionized workforce preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Proficient with use of e-mail.
Proficient with use of Google and Microsoft Office suites.
Ability to learn new industry-specific software.
Attention to detail with good organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with all levels of employees.
Ability to handle extreme confidential information and possess a high degree of professionalism.
